Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand is needed in ending the menace of galamsey.

Stop Galamsey Now was founded in 2025 by three dedicated individuals—Hidden, Hidden, and Hidden—who met at Hidden and shared a vision for tackling the challenges of illegal mining through technology, policy, and data-driven solutions.

Hidden – President: A Computer Science & Statistics major, passionate about using data analytics to drive sustainable mining policies.
Hidden – Public Relations Officer: Also a Computer Science & Statistics major, with a deep interest in predictive modeling for environmental conservation.
Hidden – General Secretary: Studying Computer Science & Science, Technology, and Society (STS), bridging the gap between tech, society, and policy-making.

We run petition, crowdfunding and other engaging campaigns for raising awareness of illegal small scale gold mining in Ghana.

Our mission is to eliminate Galamsey by 2028.

Whether it is by educating community members or calling out responsible institutions, we are on a mission to eliminate small scale illegal mining from the face of the earth.

Our Vision

We want to build a world where no member of the community is threatened by galamsey.

Our entire team wants to see a world where no member of the next generation will think of galamsey at the mention of the word “gold” because it has become a non-existent thing and our environments are no longer lingering with its effects.
